HB 114: Move on When Ready Act; prohibit school systems from excluding students in dual credit courses from valedictorian or salutatorian determinationsVoted on Wednesday March 1, 2017
John Pezold's thoughts
This bill addresses the "Move on When Ready Act" to ensure that dual-enrollment students are not penalized by local school systems for taking on the challenge of collegiate coursework while still in high school. The legislation prohibits schools from excluding dual-enrolled students from eligibility for class valedictorian or salutatorian, however, students who move into the school system after their sophomore year must take at least one course on site at their high school to be eligible for valedictorian or salutatorian.More information on legis.ga.gov
