HB 154: Dental hygienists; perform certain functions under general supervision; authorizeVoted on Friday February 10, 2017
John Pezold's thoughts
This initiative has been considered for three legislative sessions now. The legislation grants licensed dental hygienists the ability to perform some duties without the supervision of a dentist.
Specifically, the bill grants licensed hygienists the ability to work at volunteer health centers, senior centers, and family violence shelters - essentially expanding access for persons who would not otherwise have access to dental care.
