HB 238: Ad valorem tax; use of property for solar power generation; provide exception to a breach of covenantsVoted on Wednesday February 22, 2017
John Pezold's thoughts
This bill allows a portion of the property in a covenant to be used for solar generation of electricity or heat.
The portion of the property used for solar electricity/heat is removed from the covenant and then subject to ad valorem tax at the fair market value.
This is codified under the Forest Use Protection Act.
