HB 280: Firearms; license holders; carrying and possession of certain weapons in certain buildings or real property owned or leased to public institutions of postsecondary education; authorizeVoted on Friday March 3, 2017
John Pezold's thoughts
The bill specifically allows for students over the age of 21 who lawfully have a Georgia Weapons Carry Permit to carry a firearm on public college and university campuses. Exceptions for permission include on-campus day care centers, athletic events, fraternity and sorority houses, or student housing.
If a campus has more than three buildings designated for preschool space, the provision does not apply.
