HB 458:Voted on Friday March 3, 2017
John Pezold's thoughts
HB 458 allows registered law enforcement to use an automated traffic enforcement safety device or a stationary speed detection device within a school zone.
This device can take photos and videos and detect speed from the images.
Fines are $125 per violation.
I voted NO because I don't believe in the accuracy of a machine using images to gauge the speed of a moving vehicle and we've already seen how much confusion in the legal system that red light cameras have caused.More information on legis.ga.gov
