SB 102: Emergency Medical Services; emergency cardiac care centers; designation; Office of Cardiac Care within Department of Public Health; establishmentVoted on Friday March 10, 2017
John Pezold's thoughts
SB 192 creates an Office of Cardiac Care under the Department of Public Health and adds a three-tier designation system cardiac care centers in ERs.
Hospitals are permitted to apply for the designation as long as the hospital demonstrates the satisfaction of the applicable criteria. A hospital seeking designation as an emergency cardiac car center may apply for a grant and provide information as the office deems necessary to determine if the hospital is eligible for such grant.
