SB 201: Labor and Industrial Relations; employees to use sick leave for the care of immediate family members; allowVoted on Wednesday March 22, 2017
John Pezold's thoughts
SB 201 requires employers with at least 25 employees that also provide sick leave allow an employee to use that leave for the care of an immediate family member.
I voted NO on this measure because I don't believe the state should dictate how a business owner offers compensation and benefits to an employee. If a business wants to provide paid time off for employees, they should be able to do so under their policies and discretion.
