SB 41: Pharmacists and Pharmacies; durable medical equipment suppliers; provide for the licensure; definition; requirements; discipline and revocationVoted on Tuesday March 28, 2017
John Pezold's thoughts
I voted NO on SB 41 which requires persons who provide "durable medical equipment," like oxygen tanks, insulin pumps, etc, to obtain a license from the state. In order to obtain a license, a fee must be paid.
I voted NO because the equipment is prescribed by a licensed medical doctor, approved by the FDA, and supplied through a licensed pharmacy of sorts so I do not believe another layer of government - and another tax - should be required for a person to operate a business in the name of "consumer protection."More information on legis.ga.gov
